Samsung just sent out invites for the launch of its flagship Galaxy Note8 smartphone in India on September 12th, the same day as the Apple iPhone 8 event. The phone comes with a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Infinity Display and comes with 12-megapixel primary camera with f/1.7 aperture and wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture and telephoto lens offering 2x optical zoom and OIS for both. It has Iris scanner, fingerprint sensor as well as heart rate monitor, similar to the predecessor and is also water resistant up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes with IP68 ratings. It also has Bixby assistant that was first introduced with the S8 series and also has a dedicated Bixby hardware button. It also has an improved S Pen stylus with finer tip, improved pressure sensitivity and several new S Pen features. Google had announced three new features for Photos at the I/O 2017 conference that are aimed at making sharing easy. Google has now started rolling out suggested sharing, shared albums to Android, iOS and Web. Suggested sharing uses machine learning to automatically identify photos and suggest recipients. For example you if you have few photos of a friend from his birthday party, Google will suggest you to send those photos to that friend. Users can also search for photos to share by keyword, location, or name. All the sharing activities and suggestions will be seen in a new Sharing tab at the bottom of the screen. You can share directly in the app or via email or phone. Amazon is planning to launch its Echo speaker with Alexa voice assistant in India by the end of this year, according to a new report from ET . Citing two people aware of the development, the report further stated that it has already begun testing its products through select company executives and analysts. Earlier in February, a separate report had said that Amazon is “putting together content and localising the service”. The speakers will initially be launched with an English interface following which it will be able to respond commands in regional Indian languages including Marathi, Tamil and Hindi. A multilingual interface is being developed at Amazon’s Chennai facility. With Amazon Echo smart speaker, users will be able to order a cab, play their favorite music, check the weather and more.
