HMD Global introduced the Nokia 6 smartphone exclusively for China earlier this month. The phone got sold out  in the first flash sale in under a minute. Now, it looks like Nokia is working on a budget smartphone. Codenamed as Heart, the device has been spotted on GFX benchmark. As per the listing, Nokia Heart will sport a 5.2-inch 720p display and will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC. The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat and come with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. It could feature a 13MP rear and a 8MP front camera. No other information of the phone is known at present. Considering the specifications, it looks like Nokia Heart is a budget Android smartphone. HMD Global has already talked about its plans to launch multiple phones in different price categories. If the device is real it could be announced by HMD at MWC next month in Barcelona.

Huawei’s Honor brand introduced the  Honor 6X smartphone for global markets earlier this month at the CES 2017. Today it has launched the smartphone in India, as it had promised . It was introduced  in China last year, has a 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 655 16nm processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 4.1. It will get EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 (Nougat) in Q2 2017. It has a 12-megapixel camera with phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), LED flash and a secondary 2-megapixel for achieving depth of field and background blur. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back that can unlock the phone in 0.3 seconds. It has unibody metal design and packs a 3,340mAh battery that promises up to two days of battery life with normal use. Xiaomi launched its most expected  Redmi Note 4  smartphone in India last week. It went on open sale at 12PM yesterday. Yesterday it did not announce the number of units it sold. Today it has revealed that it sold over 2,50,000 units of Redmi Note 4 units in just 10 minutes on both  Flipkart and Mi.com . Two major flagships of 2017 – Samsung Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8 are tipped to sport highest water-resistance rating, according to a latest report from The Investor . Citing multiple sources, the report said both the devices will come with IP68 water and dust resistance. An IP67 means a device can stay under 1 meter of water for 30 minutes while with IP68 certification offers protection up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes. The iPhone 7 is IP67 certified and an IP68 rating will be a nice addition for the upcoming iPhone 8. This year is Apple’s 10th anniversary and the company is expected to make radical changes to iPhone design and features. Xiaomi last week confirmed that it will be launching a new product on January 19th, which will likely be the Redmi Note 4. Now Flipkart has announced that it will be exclusively available on its store. The teaser says All New All-Rounder is Coming to Flipkart  and also mentions Ravindra Jadeja. Last year’s Redmi Note 3 was launched on both Mi.com and Amazon.in, later it was expanded to others. South Korean giant, Samsung announced its earnings for the fourth quarter of 2016. The company has reported 50% profit surge in its fourth quarter due to its semiconductor and display businesses, despite the Note 7 debacle. Samsung said it expected 9.2 trillion won ($7.2 billion approx.) in operating profit for the fourth quarter. On the other hand, the South Korean giant supplies memory chips and display panels to other companies including its rival Apple. As per the report from IDC, Samsung’s smartphone market share was roughly 20% amid Note 7 issue and had a sharp 96% year on decline in operating profit in the third quarter for the smartphone business due to Note 7 recall. Moreover, Samsung is yet to disclose the reason behind the explosion of the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone.
