Motorola has finally started rolling out Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for the 2015 Moto E (2nd gen) 4G in India. It rolled out Android Marshmallow update for the Moto X Style smartphone in India back in November last year, Moto X Play, Moto G (3rd Gen) and Moto G Turbo edition got the Marshmallow update in India last month. The Moto G (2nd Gen) got the update earlier this month. The Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen) 4G was launched in India running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) back in April last year. It received the Android 5.1 (Lollipop) update soon after. Apple has withdrawn iPhone 4s and 5c smartphones from India, as per a report from the Economic Times . The move comes from the company as it bows out of the sub Rs. 20,000 smartphone segment in the country to bolster its falling average selling price (ASP). The company is discontinuing the iPhone 4s and 5c models that were selling for Rs 12,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively. Apple was selling both these handsets for a lower price in a bid to attract users and increase its market share in the country. The company slashed price for the iPhone 5s in December in India and the phone is available for as low as Rs 24,999. The report goes on saying that Apple’s ASP in India increased sequentially during the last quarter of 2015 due to the new iPhone 6s series, but it declined 20 per cent compared to that a year ago. Reliance Jio has Infocomm has announced collaboration with eight communications services providers across the world. The move comes from the company with an aim to bring better products and services to customers everywhere. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are now less than a week from their official unveiling. Although, we have seen several leaks over the past few weeks that have given us glimpses about the phones’ features and looks, we now have high resolution images of the smartphones showing the different colour options. The new images showcase three colours for the S7 edge. There is a Gold variant, a Black one and a Silver variant. The Silver variant is similar to what Samsung introduced with the Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+. There seems to be no sign of the Light Blue colour of the Galaxy S6 or the Emerald Green colour of the S6 edge+. The reason for this could be the difficulties in production as Samsung only released the basic White, Gold and Black colours for the S6 and S6 edge. Today it is reporting that it will start selling both these devices on Marsh 18th, the same week after it launches. Yesterday the company said that the registration number reached a record high of 9,20,000, today it said that it reached over 10,30,000 before the sale. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has ruled in favour of Net Neutrality putting an end to a long on-going debate. The authority has announced that “no service provider can offer or charge discriminatory tariffs for data services on the basis of content”. TRAI has ordered the same under ‘Prohibition of Discriminatory Tariffs for Data Services Regulation’. The body further stated that a telecom service provider may reduce tariff for accessing or providing emergency services. The regulator, which warned the operators that they cannot enter into any arrangement based on discriminatory pricing, also said that operators will be fined between Rs. 50,000-50 lakh if the ruling is violated. For those unaware, differential pricing means charging customers different prices for access to different websites and services. The regulations come into effect immediately. Last month, Lenovo CEO Yuanqing Yang said that the company will launch major smartphone in the US around mid-July this year under the Moto brand.
