Samsung recalls Galaxy Note 7 smartphones globally over battery issue

Samsung has announced that it will issue a global recall of Galaxy Note 7 smartphones amid battery issues. The company has released an statement following yesterday’s report about exploding batteries.  

Samsung said that it has conducted a thorough investigation and found battery cell issues on Note 7 devices.
 The battery in the Note 7 is made by Samsung SDI, its battery arm. The company said that as on September 1, a total of 35 cases have been reportedly globally. Samsung also stated that it has stopped sales of Galaxy Note 7 worldwide. In case of customers who have already bought the Galaxy Note7 devices, Samsung will voluntarily replace them with a new one over the coming weeks.

Samsung said in the issued statement,
We acknowledge the inconvenience this may cause in the market but this is to ensure that Samsung continues to deliver the highest quality products to our customers. We are working closely with our partners to ensure the replacement experience is as convenient and efficient as possible.
Samsung will have to replace over one million phones and the halt in sales comes at a time when the device was still being rolled out globally.

Reliance Jio now offering JioFi hotspot with preview offer for HP laptop customers

Nokia ‘Heart’ with 5.2-inch display, Snapdragon 430, 13MP camera spotted

HMD Global introduced the Nokia 6 smartphone exclusively for China earlier this month. The phone got sold out  in the first flash sale in under a minute. Now, it looks like Nokia is working on a budget smartphone. Codenamed as Heart, the device has been spotted on GFX benchmark. As per the listing, Nokia Heart will sport a 5.2-inch 720p display and will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC. The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat and come with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. It could feature a 13MP rear and a 8MP front camera. No other information of the phone is known at present. Considering the specifications, it looks like Nokia Heart is a budget Android smartphone. HMD Global has already talked about its plans to launch multiple phones in different price categories. If the device is real it could be announced by HMD at MWC next month in Barcelona.
