Motorola Moto G (2nd gen) Android 6.0 Marshmallow update starts rolling out in India
Motorola has finally started rolling out Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for the Moto G (2nd gen) and the Moto G (2nd gen) 4G in India, few weeks after it stared soak test for the smartphone. Motorola rolled out Android Marshmallow update for the Moto X Style in India back in November last year, Moto X Play, Moto G (3rd Gen) and Moto G Turbo edition got the Marshmallow update in India last month.
The Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen) was launched in India running Android 4.4 (KitKat). It received the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update back in January last year in India. It got patches for Stagefright exploit back in September last year, but it did not get the Android 5.1 (Lollipop) update.
Motorola confirmed Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for a range of smartphones back in October last year. It recently added the Moto E (2nd Gen) 4G to list and said that it will get the Marshmallow update in some regions.
The Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) over-the-air (OTA) update v24.41.34 for the Moto G (2nd gen) is 464.2MB in size and also includes the Android security update for January, 2016.
